Mad Mimi Email Marketing

Today’s post came from the request of a client to review the new email marketing online software, Mad Mimi. I feel no one has mastered the ultimate email marketing software, so I was excited to try something new in hopes of finding my new best friend.

I didn’t spend a large amount of time diving into every feature or detail,  and I didn’t send out a campaign because it wasn’t my account but here’s my initial thoughts on Mad Mimi:

The good:

- I really digged the user interface because of the bright colors and simple design. The big buttons made it easy to figure out what to click quickly and the clean interface made the newsletter really stand out.

- They have live support! I’ve switched companies because of this sole reason. I love not having to waste time waiting on the phone. I clicked on the support and they were there and ready to go.

- For people with no HTML experience (most of my clients) it was pretty easy to change basic colors such as the background, text, logo, etc. They provide a few color combinations that are quite pleasing.

- They do offer a few add on tools which again, I think people who are looking for a simple option would appreciate such as drip campaigns and google analytics. Some of these do incur an additional fee.

- This pricing is by monthly subscription for unlimited emails and I found their pricing to be quite fair. They even have a free option. I LOVE FREE PLANS!

The could be better:

- At first I liked the name Mad Mimi cause I thought it was different and cute, but my client can never remember it for anything so I think it defeats it’s purpose.

- Unfortunately, the client who asked me to review Mad Mimi had left Constant Contact because of their lack of customization. Mad Mimi at this point in time, doesn’t offer much better. They do have an HTML option, for this emails the design and the content have to be written in HTML. They don’t have template tags which allow me to create a design for my client and let them edit it. Really if they would just let us use a background image I think we could have worked with it.

In a nutshell, if you’re looking for something simple both in usability and design, then Mad Mimi is for you. Those looking for an advanced email design to match their website need to keep looking.

If you would like to check out Mad Mimi, I would be gracious if you would click my affiliate link for love. Thanks! : Mad Mimi Website
