Sending Files Through FTP
Sending large files over FTP is easy!
Sometimes sending files through email is difficult due to large file sizes. Using an FTP (File Transfer Protocol) program to transfer files to or from Deelicious Web Design is as simple as opening a program and pressing a button. If you are interested in using our FTP services, please request a USERNAME and PASSWORD before attempting to follow the instructions below.
Installing the FTP software.
Step 1.

Open the COREFTPLITE.EXE file that was included in your email.
The installation setup box will appear. Choose the following options for quick installation:
1st Screen: click NEXT
2nd Screen: click NEXT
3rd Screen: browse to the location you would like the program to be installed on your computer by clicking BROWSE, or use the default location by clicking NEXT
4th Screen: choose if you would like the program to keep backup copies of the files you transfer, our suggestion is to choose NO
5th Screen: click NEXT
6th Screen: click NEXT
7th Screen: click FINISH
The Core FTP Lite Program is now installed!
Transferring files using the FTP program.
Step 1.

Open the program by selecting the CORE FTP LITE shortcut icon on your desktop.
When you open te program, a connection dialog box will appear. Only fill-in the following information which should have been provided in your email from Deelicious Web Design.
SITE NAME: Choose any name you would like to identify your connection. ex. My Site
HOST/IP/URL: ftp.yoursite.com
USERNAME: you@yoursite.com
PASSWORD: your password
Then click the CONNECT button on the bottom of the dialog box. If no problem pop-up boxes appear, you have connected successfully.
Note

If you open the CORE FTP program and the connection dialog box does not appear, you can press the CONNECT button located at the top left of the screen.
Step 2.

To upload files from your computer to the FTP sever, click the DIRECTORY TREE button highlighted in the photo. This will display a LOCAL window where you can select the location of the folder where your files are stored.
Step 3.

All files that are in the folder you selected will be displayed on the left side of the screen as highlighted in the photo.
Choose one file, several files or a folder with your mouse then click the blue UPLOAD button shown in the photo.
Step 4.

As your files are uploading to the FTP site, you will see the transfer progress of each file on the bottom of the screen.
*Files over 10MB may take a long time to transfer depending on your connection speed, so please be patient!
Step 5.

Once the uploading has successfully finished, you will see the files on the right side of the screen under the FTP directory as highlighted in the photo.
You have now finished uploading your files! Remember to send an email to Deelicious Web Design to inform them of the files now available for use on your website.
Step 6.

If you need to download files from the FTP server to your computer, select the desired files from the FTP server list on the right side of the screen and click the blue DOWNLOAD button highlighted in the photo.
